Giant magnetostrictive materials

1. Descriptions

Rare-earth magnetostrictive materials are rare earth iron alloys with the main phase of REFe2 compound. The materials can show scale change alone the direction of magnetization in the magnetic field and produce large magnetostriction, which can convert electromagnetic energies into mechanical energies. Rare-earth magnetostrictive materials have large magnetostriction coefficient, high electromechanical coupling coefficient, fast mechanical response speed and high power density.
